Vivo is launching its smartwatch, the iQOO Watch

Vivo unveiled its new smartwatch under the iQOO brand, although the company isn't starting from scratch as the iQOO Watch is very similar to the Vivo Watch 3.

The smartwatch works using the BlueOS operating system instead of Google Wear OS. There is a version with an eSIM digital communication chip, so this watch can work independently of a smartphone, unlike most watches with a special operating system.

There's also an app store, so you can add new functions to the watch. The size of the watch is 46.1 mm, and its thickness is 11.3 mm (not including the biometric sensor at the bottom).

It weighs 36 grams without the strap, and there are 3 different straps to choose from that are interchangeable so you can change them to suit the occasion.

The watch detects when to change the band and automatically loads the matching watch face. Vivo added a rotating crown at the top and a button at the bottom.

There's a microphone and speaker for Bluetooth calling, and if you have the eSIM version, you can make calls right from the watch.

The health monitoring system uses a dual system: during the day it uses visible light to monitor your heart rate and blood oxygen levels, and at night it uses invisible infrared rays to prevent disturbing your sleep with flashing lights.

Vivo claims the watch achieves 97.7 percent accuracy when tracking heart rate thanks to a multi-channel sensor (8 channels for heart rate, 16 channels for blood oxygen) and a deep learning algorithm.

The smart watch has more than 100 game modes. Wearing them can help you plan your workout and training and give you guidance on how to improve your training.

The 505 mAh battery lasts up to 8 days in Bluetooth mode under normal operation, and up to 16 days with power saving enabled.

The iQOO Watch is available for purchase through the Vivo online store and comes at a price of $150 for the Bluetooth version and $180 for the eSIM version. (Arabic portal for technical news)
