Popular US star Kevin Spacey has denied new allegations of sexual assault against him, ahead of the scheduled screening of a documentary next week in which several men will testify about the star’s “inappropriate” behaviour.
The documentary, titled Spacey Unmasked, will be shown in two parts next Monday and Tuesday on British channel Channel 4, and will include testimonies from ten people about the actor’s alleged misconduct, Agence France-Presse reported.
Last year, a London court acquitted the actor, who won two Oscars for his roles in “American Beauty” and “The Personal Suspects,” of sexually assaulting four men. That star happened in the British capital.
In an interview with Dan Wootton, a British journalist who worked for GB News, and aired online before the documentary was shown, Kevin Spacey denied any illegal conduct.
In the interview which lasted for over an hour and a half, he said, “I take full responsibility for my past behavior and actions, but I cannot take responsibility or apologize to those who created exaggerated stories about me. I am.”
Spacey admitted in the interview that he had sex with men who “thought they would advance their careers by being in a relationship with me,” but added: “I never told anyone that I would help their careers in exchange for sexual favors.” He alleged that the TV station had allowed him only seven days to present his account of events 50 years ago.
Spacey was convicted of sexual assault in the United States in 2022 in a New York civil court. In 2019, charges against him in another case were dropped.
The first accusations against Spacey came in 2017, at the beginning of the “Me Too” movement, when he was at the height of his stardom, starring in the popular “House of Cards” series on Netflix, which led to him. Excluded from the final season, making him a pariah in Hollywood.
