Nicole Kidman wins “Lifetime Achievement”.

Hollywood star Nicole Kidman received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American Film Institute last night. This is the first time an Australian actress or actor has received this prestigious award.

Stars – including: Meryl Streep, Morgan Freeman, Naomi Watts and Reese Witherspoon – paid tribute to the Oscar-winning Australian actress (56). The institute has presented the Lifetime Achievement Award since 1973, honoring people whose work has made an impact on American cinema.

In addition to Streep and Freeman, previous honorees include: Sean Connery, Michael Douglas, Jane Fonda, Dustin Hoffman, Steven Spielberg, Diane Keaton, George Clooney and Denzel Washington.

Wearing a glittering gold gown, Nicole Kidman walked the red carpet in front of the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles with her husband, Australian singer Keith Urban, and their daughters Sunday Rose (15) and Faith Margaret (13). The Academy Awards ceremony will be a traditional one.

Orphan wrote on the “X” site (formerly Twitter): “Honey – I'm so proud of you,” and “the list of award winners is long.” Urban listed the names of all 49 recipients of the award, starting with John Ford in 1973 and ending with Kidman, who placed a red heart next to his name.

Nicole Kidman wrote on her Instagram account: “Deeply touched by all the support worldwide.” He thanked the American Film Institute for including him in this “honourable group”. The agency praised Kidman and described her as a “true icon of cinema” who embodies the magic of Old Hollywood and is characterized by her boldness in choosing her roles.

Nicole Kidman has appeared in films such as “Deadly Come,” “Days of Thunder,” “To Die For,” “Eyes Wide Shut,” “Moulin Rouge,” “Dogville,” and “Being a Ricardo.”
