Lebanese Hezbollah fired dozens of Katyusha rockets into the Meron area of the Upper Galilee on Saturday night, following Israeli bombardment of several towns in southern Lebanon.
The party said in a statement that its fighters “bombarded the Meron settlement and surrounding settlements with dozens of Katyusha rockets.”
He added that the bombing was “in response to Israeli enemy attacks on fortified southern villages and civilian homes, particularly the towns of al-Qusa, Markaba and Sarbin.”
An Al Jazeera reporter reported that about 30 missiles were fired from southern Lebanon towards the Upper Galilee.
He added that Israel immediately launched 6 strikes in the southern Lebanese cities of Maroun al-Ras and Deir Harfa.

Israeli media reported violent explosions in the Meron area within minutes of the sirens being activated.
Video clips broadcast by Israeli sites showed airstrikes and missiles landing in the Meron area.
Israeli military radio said forces tracked the launch of approximately 25 rockets from southern Lebanon into the Meron area, while other rockets landed in open areas.
Earlier on Saturday, the official Lebanese media reported that nine civilians were injured, one of them critically, in an Israeli bombardment targeting a house in the town of Sarbin in the southern district of Tire.
Israeli warplanes carried out two strikes on Saturday morning in the towns of Kafr Shuba and Sheba in Hasbaya district, which led to the death of a civilian, destroyed two houses and caused extensive damage.
On October 7, 2023, Hezbollah entered into conflict with Israel following the Al-Aqsa flood operation and the outbreak of the Israeli war on Gaza.
Occupation authorities were forced to evict tens of thousands of Israelis from settlements and towns near the Lebanese border.
