Houthis target US ship in Red Sea: Our operations will increase during Ramadan

The military spokesman of Ansar Allah Houthis announced that the American ship “Pinocchio” was targeted by several suitable missiles in the Red Sea.

The spokesman said: “Our missiles scored a precision strike on the USS Pinocchio in the Red Sea.”

He added: “We will continue to block Israeli navigation or ships bound for the ports of occupied Palestine until the occupation of Gaza ceases.”

Continuing, he said, “Our military operations will intensify in the month of Ramadan in support of the Palestinian people and the Mujahideen brothers in Gaza.”

The US military confirmed on Tuesday that the Houthis had targeted a US ship in the Red Sea, but indicated that the “Pinocchio”, which US Central Command described as a merchant ship, had not been hit. There was no damage or injury to the vessel, it said in a statement.

He also said that the Houthis fired two anti-ship ballistic missiles at the “Pinocchio”.

It added that yesterday it carried out 6 strikes that destroyed a drone boat and 18 anti-ship missiles in Houthi-held areas of Yemen.

The Al-Masira TV channel, run by the Yemeni Houthi movement, reported today that the coalition protecting ships in the Red Sea had carried out at least 17 airstrikes on the city of Hodeidah and several coastal areas in western Yemen.

The Houthi group continues its operations in Red and Arab Bahrain and the Gulf of Aden, targeting Israeli ships in “support of Gaza” and targeting US and British ships.
