In this episode of Galavanting Travel News Roundup:

TWARES - It's the newest thing from United Airlines. The company started offering special discount fares to its Twitter followers this week. The "twares" are time-sensitive and expire fairly soon after posted - so keep an eye out, and be sure to follow @UnitedAirlines on Twitter.

Conde Nast $25,000 Dream Trip Contest
- Upload a photograph that you took on a memorable trip, and you could win a $25,000 Dream Trip from Conde Nast Traveler Magazine. Their website instructs you to include a caption and "Tell them why this travel moment remains embedded in your mind" by July 31st -- and you'll be entered to win.

Student Eurail Bonus Summer 2009 - Gadling.com reports that those with an International Student Identity Card (ISIC) can add two free days of rail travel to their eight-day Eurail "Select Pass". So...all you Galavanters planning a trip through Europe this summer, check out Gadling's article and make your way to STA Travel who says the offer is available through June and July.

Go Pet-Friendly - Traveling with a pet is about to get a bit easier thanks to a new site launching next week called GoPetFriendly.com. So if you're a big sucker and don't wanna leave your furry friend at home, check out the site's more than 30,000 listings of pet-friendly accommodations before your next trip.

BIXI Montreal - This month the bike-friendly city of Montréal got a new public bike system that will make getting around town fun and eco-friendly. They're called BIXIs, and have 300 locations all across town. For only $5 bucks a day, you can grab a bike at any one of the automated kiosks, swipe a credit card, and then drop it off at the closest station once you're done. Voila. Tourisme Montreal has a great post on its girlfriend getaways blog called BIKE + TAXI = BIXI with a video test drive review.

World Naked Bike Ride - Speaking of bikes... WeirdUniverse.net reminds us of the upcoming June 13th World Naked Bike Ride (WNBR). It's just like it sounds: an international clothing-optional event, spanning 70 cities in 20 countries around the world. Participants ride together in huge - naked - groups on bicycles, and skateboards or rollerblades to protest oil dependency. "It's time to put a stop to the indecent exposure of people and the planet to cars and the pollution they create." says the organization's website: WorldNakedBikeRide.org.

Whoa! I definitely want to stay indoors and save my eyes on World Naked Bike Day

Great post! Love the roundup format and the video looks fantastic. For the record, World Naked Bike Ride sounds awesome. I recently missed out on ASU's Undie Run (http://www.phoenixnewtimes.com/slideshow/view/8899741) sad day!
