ecoLiving Essentials Product Review: For the Clean, Eco-friendly Traveler

Are you a traveler who is concerned about both germs and the environment?

Last week I received sample products from ecoLiving Essentials. This company was established by two environmentally-focused moms who develop innovative products for individual travelers and the travel industry. Their products minimize impact on the environment through the use of local, sustainable resources and focus on efficient, ethical production methods.

Sound interesting to you? It did to me, too.

I was headed to Washington, DC earlier in the week so I had the perfect opportunity to try out the Biodegradable Shower Cap and the Biodegradable Travel Booties.

According to the product description the shower cap can biodegrade naturally through microorganisms and can be recycled, composted, or mixed in with trash. It is BPA-free and has a standard 20 inch diameter.

My thoughts on the Biodegradable Shower Cap
I’m not really a shower cap user, but this one is sufficient for those who are. The biodegradable material makes this common item appealing. It is something I would enjoy seeing in my hotel bathroom with a note about its environmental benefits. If you use a shower cap on a regular basis, I would not hesitate to choose this product.

The travel booties are designed to keep feet clean and germ free while walking through airport security lines. The booties meet TSA requirements and come as one size fits most.

My thoughts on the Biodegradable Travel Booties
These could be helpful to those who are squeamish when it comes to germs. I found it to be a bit of a hassle to put on the booties after removing my shoes in the midst of getting out my laptop and my little liquids baggie. It was much easier just to walk through in my socks.

I also found the size to be way too big. A pair that fit my feet better would have made me feel more comfortable wearing them.

One place where I might find these little booties handy is during overnight international flights. They would be nice to put over my socks for walking around the aircraft and would keep me from having to keeping taking my shoes on and off.

Check out the products for yourself online and let us know what you think if you’ve tried them.
