Galavanting is thrilled to be a participant in Passports With Purpose, a fundraiser to benefit Heifer International, an international charity working to end hunger for impoverished children and families in the developing world.
A $10 USD ticket enters you to win your choice of prizes offered by a veritable buffet of travel bloggers. There is so much loot in the raffle it will make your head spin -- there are hotel stays, travel gear, clothes, books, music -- it's a traveler's paradise. But the best thing...it's all for a fabulous cause.
Okay, we know the economy is in the crapper and every penny counts. But that's the point: every penny counts. Your $10 can make a difference.
When the US economy sneezes, the rest of the world gets a cold. Those who are already living under the poverty line are severely affected by the downturn because of rising food costs and other factors. We also know that women and children are disproportionately affected by poverty.
An affordable and fun raffle for a great cause is the perfect way to celebrate the holiday season.
So here's what you do to participate:
1) Pull out your purse or wallet and pony up $10 USD for a raffle ticket (but don't you think your sister and BFF need one too though? Okay, so make that $30 bucks).
2) Click over to the official Passports With Purpose description page and drool over the many spectacular prizes, then choose one or more you'd like to win and write down the identifier code.
3) Check out the amazing work that Heifer International does forthe impoverished around the world and get even more motivated to enter the raffle.
4) Buy your raffle ticket(s) through Firstgiving.com, a non-profit who will make sure all the proceeds get to the right place. (Don't forget to print the donation receipt for your tax purposes!)
5) Have a great rest of the day knowing you just helped the world get a little better.
