When it comes to travel, we believe people are interested in more than just the latest gear and reviews of ludicrously expensive resorts. We know that not every female is in search of the world's perfect facial. And that people without trust funds travel too.

The Galavanting Gals Take a Western Caribbean Cruise!

photo by vlasta2 on flickrIn less than two weeks, three of the gals of Galavanting will be heading on a Princess Cruise to the Western Caribbean. We’re pretty excited about the various ports of call, which will be Grand Cayman Island, Honduras, Mexico and the Bahamas. Quite a way to get out of the Chicago winter cold!

Along with several other travel writers who have a penchant for tweeting while on the road, we were invited by Princess Cruises to take a trip on their dime and report our experiences as part of a first-ever “Twitter Press Trip”. Seriously … pretty sweet gig, no?

(Don’t worry — as always — we drive the content of everything published on Galavanting and do not accept sponsored/paid posts.)

So check back here on Galavanting’s worldwide travel blog for some fun little videos and posts along the way, even a behind-the-scenes tour of the ship’s machine room! You can be sure to catch all our banter and discoveries via the #FollowMeAtSea hashtag we’ll use on Twitter.

@ShannaQuinn @Courtneyisneato @Courtneyisneato@KimMance @KimMance@ShannaQuinn @Galavanting@Galavanting We carefully chose our shore excursions in each location and plan to do some pretty great stuff like helmet diving, kayaking & snorkeling, and a hike to Mayan ruins. Not to mention plenty of mixed drinks and squishing our toes in the sand… We’ll also be voluneering at a school in Roatan, Honduras for a project run by Roatan Children’s Fund.

A cool swimsuit designer is sending us some samples to try out and we’ll let you know if they Rock the Casbah or not.

I’m also planning to review various anti-nausea solutions while on the ship and will report back on the best ones… If you have any suggestions of good ones to try out, leave them in comments!
